 Pretty from afar but cheap if you look closely...shade is PLASTIC Feb 21, 2012

I bought this for my husband for his media room & it looks very nice from afar. But, when looking closely, the shade is PLASTIC, not glass. The description of the item specifically says it's glass, but it's not. For the price you pay, you would definitely expect glass. I didn't return it because my husband likes it (he doesn't know how much I paid for it), but it's my first instinct to return it because it's so cheap.

I ordered this lamp and love it. It was awesome . It even came with its own cfl light bulb. Came on time and box was not damaged at all.

I returned two of these lamps for shoddy craftsmanship before I gave up and just kept the third one. The main problem seems to be the joints where the faces of the lamp shade come together. Stuck in the joints are pieces of brass colored fibers, as if somebody tried to sand the edges using a brass type of steel wool. This left a bunch of these brass fibers, which someone at the shop tried to (unsuccessfully) cover up using black paint. The lamp uses a 60w bulb, but it isn't the normal size bulb but one of the small candelabra type, which wasn't included. Also, the on / off switch isn't located on the lamp, but rather inconveniently located halfway down the rather short plug / cord, which is a pain to reach as most people try to hide the cord behind furniture. Then again, what do you expect from some piece of crap made in China?

The area where the glass inserts go are actually plastic. Smaller and cheaper looking in person but works ok in our office

Being from Nebraska and a UNL alum, I am always looking for Nebraska Cornhusker items. This lamp was a little smaller than I anticipated, but still a nice item. The colors and logos are very nice. It takes a smaller blub, so it doesn't really light up an entire room, but it's fine for a hall table or end table. This lamp is more decorative than anything. Still a nice "Husker" item.
